'Batman: Arkham VR': Virtual Reality Tech Lets Players Become One With The Dark Knight
Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have released the latest clip for its upcoming "Batman: Arkham VR" release, and it shows Batman fans in-game with Sony's latest technology.
The clip opens with Batman's cowl, which is followed by footage from the 2016 Comic-Con event in San Diego. The comic-con exhibition showcased various items, such as the game's VR iteration. According to the video, more than 500 fans did not just play, but they had also become the Dark Knight.
"When you're going down and it did feel just like you're actually dropping a level. It is virtual reality," one user said.
"As you put the mask on, the mirror appears and you look at the mirror seeing your face as Batman. So that's when you like really feel it," another user said.
"I felt powerful. I felt strong. It was cool to have like the belt on and just like grab you stuff and throw it," a user said, when talking about Batman's gears.
"That was a lot of fun," another visitor said.
"If feels like you could possibly get to being Batman," another participant mentioned.
"Batman: Arkham" is Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive's action-adventure video game series, which is based on the iconic DC Comics character and superhero Batman. The initial game was called "Batman: Arkham Asylum," which follows the Dark Knight as he stops the Joker from destroying Gotham City, after the latter gains control of the institute.
The second title, "Batman: Arkham City," highlights Dr. Hugo Strange, as he expands Arkham into a large super-prison, which encloses a portion of Gotham City. Knowing that the doctor has dark plans brewing, the Dark Knight endeavors to unravel his secrets.
"Batman: Arkham VR" can be pre-ordered on Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop, as per the game's official website. It is currently scheduled for a release date on the PlayStation 4 in October.
