Batman Arkham Knight Release Date 2014: Rocksteady Not Bringing Game to Wii U
Batman: Arkham Knight was announced today as Rocksteady's return to the Caped Crusader's franchise of games, and early word indicates there will not be a Wii U port of the game.
Arkham Knight will move the series to the next-gen when it comes to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
According to IGN, the game will takes place one year following the events of the Arkham City game.
"This is the natural end for the story. We really want to go out in style," said game director Sefton Hill to IGN.
The exclusion of the game for Nintendo's console goes along with Warner Bros' decision to end support for Arkham Origins on the Wii U when they canceled all DLCs and updates.
"Based on demand for DLC content on the system, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made the decision to remove its offering of the upcoming all-new story campaign for Wii U," a Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment spokesperson said to Polygon when the news came out.
People who have purchased the season pass will be refunded their $19.99 for the game through the Nintendo eShop.
Polygon reported that Nintendo sent out an email to all users of the Wii U version of the game. It reads:
