'Batman Arkham Knight' Release Date & DLC News: Harley Quinn Storyline DLC for Upcoming Title
For the first time in the Arkham video games series, players will be able to take on the role of The Joker's lovable yet psychotic partner-in-crime Harley Quinn as a DLC add-on prequel story to Batman: Arkham Knight.
Amazon revealed a small and detailed plot for the DLC stating that Harley needs to rescue her friend Poison Ivy from the Blüdhaven Police Department.
The listing states, "With this exclusive Story Pack experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy. Delve deep into Harley's demented nature and utilize her devastating baseball bat to smash, crash and bash your way to a friend very much in need."
This content will only be available as a pre-order bonus, and will be available again in the game of the year edition and also on the PlayStation 4 re-master, according to The Lazy Gamer.
Another add-on has been recently announced as well for the Story Pack starring Red Hood, although details about it have yet to be announced. Red Hood was Batman's protégé before he decided to use more deadly methods to fighting crime. With Hood and Harley as playable characters, it is likely that these two are the reason the newest game received a Mature instead of a Teen rating, the series' first.
Not much was said at first about the Harley Quinn DLC. Fans were only informed that four challenge maps would be available and players were to complete them using her "unique weapons, gadgets and abilities."
According to The Lazy Gamer, "Thanks to Ivy, she's immune to most poisons, had slightly enhanced physical strength, is an expert in psychiatry, decent fighting skills and she happens to be a top level gymnast."
Batman: Arkham Knight launches on June 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
