'Batman: Arkham Knight' New Trailer News, Release Date: 'Gotham is Mine' Teaser [VIDEO]
With the news of 'Batman: Arkham Knight' getting an M rating by the US rating board ESRB Tuesday, many fans that are excited about the game thought that all of the news for the game was done for the week. However, Rocksteady released a trailer for the game Wednesday titled "Gotham is Mine" that shows all of the main villains Batman will have to face.
More commonly known as the Rogue Gallery in the Arkham series, the video shows a dark and gritty Gotham along with several DC fan favorite villains. With Scarecrow looking to be the main threat, other villains like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, Penguin and Riddler were shown. The video also shows that Gotham will be a big area to explore as Batman, the Arkham Knight, cruises through town in his sleek Batmobile and with a plethora of gadgets at hand.
According to IGN, The M rating surprised fans as well as founder of Rocksteady Sefton Hill, "From our point of view, we never wrote it or made it with a rating in mind. We never did that in the previous two games... We just felt that this is the story that we really wanted to tell."
With the M rating and the edgy trailer, fans are even more excited than before for the game. The trailer suggests that the rating is deserved at Batman beats up the bad guys in more brutal ways than in the previous games.
The first game, Batman: Arkham Asylum was released in 2009 and was both a commercial and critical success. Many sources from the gaming world said it was the best superhero game ever made as it was visually stunning, flawlessly written and well casted.
'Batman: Arkham Knight' is expected to release for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 2.
