'Batman: Arkham Knight' Batmobile News: Select Edition of Game Cancelled
Batman: Arkham Knight, one of the most highly anticipated games of the year is set to launch next week, which will give players yet another chance to go up against some of the most iconic villains in the Batman franchise, including the Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Arkham Knight.
While the countdown to the games release continues, fans who were excited to start playing the new game received some very disappointing notices from Rocksteady and Warner Bros, which confirmed that the special Batmobile Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight has been cancelled.
Retail chains across the United States, Europe and Australia have also begun to inform their, now crestfallen, customers that Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition will not be shipping as originally planned.
The collector's edition of the game included several tokens including a steel book case, and art and comic book, and three never before seen skins for use within the game.
The showpiece of the set was to be a fully transformable Batmobile statue, courtesy of the company Project Triforce.
Based on a statement from Warner Brothers, the issue with the collection lies in this piece.
"Dear Batman: Arkham fans," wrote Warner Bros, "We regret to inform you that we are not able to release the Batmobile Collector's Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight due to unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of this extremely limited run of product. We are deeply apologetic for this unfortunate outcome."
The company went on to say that fans who pre ordered the product can return to the retail location where they did so and request a full refund, or have the funds used on another edition of the game or product of their choice.
