'Batfleck' Movie News: Ben Affleck Wears Batman Suit Again In His Solo 'Batfleck' Film
After the announcement that Ben Affleck will be the one to play Batman in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," the reactions of netizens were like chalk and cheese. His role as the Dark Knight in the movie was so controversial that the name "Batfleck" was coined, referring to him as Batman.
Despite the mixed reviews received by the movie, nobody argued that nobody could have portrayed the character better than Ben Affleck. That is the very reason why after the movie, fans immediately clamored for a solo movie featuring his character.
Just recently, Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara officially confirmed that they finally gave the Affleck-centered Batman solo movie the greenlight. During the CinemaCon held in Las Vegas, Tsujihara told fans: "We're excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone film."
Tsujihara did not confirm, however, whether the upcoming film will be written and/or directed by Ben Affleck himself, so speculations on that issue still continue.
According to "Batman V Superman" director Zack Snyder, Affleck being the director of the "Batfleck" movie would be a prerequisite for a solo Batman film, as the actor is no amateur when it comes to screenwriting and directing.
In the past, Ben Affleck co-wrote "Good Will Hunting" with Matt Damon and directed "Gone Baby Gone," "The Town," and "Argo." His movie "The Town" proved how great he is when it comes to directing even films with compelling action scenes.
Aside from Affleck's standalone movie, other titles included in the sprawling slate of DC films through 2020 are "Suicide Squad," "Wonder Woman," "Justice League," "Aquaman," "Cyborg" and "The Flash."
