'Bates Motel' Season 4 Premiere Date, Spoilers: Welcomes New Characters, Fans Thrilled To See Norman's Transformation?
"Bates Motel" Season 3 has ended with a hanging question of whether or not Norma (Vera Farmiga) will be able to afford professional mental treatment for her son, Norman (Freddie Highmore) at the Pine View Sanatorium. Now that there's confirmation of the show coming back with a more notorious psychotic note for season 4, the show's executives are hinting of more exciting and thrilling scenes for the next 10 episodes for Bates Motel.
In an interview with the Deadline, Rob Sharenow, the show's general manager and executive vice-president said that "we are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the stages of Norman's transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history." As Norman turns more frighteningly homicidal, Season 4 is likely to reveal that Norman will kill his own mother without him realizing it.
Next season will also debut the introduction of a new character by the name of Dr. Gregg Edwards, played by Damon Gupton. Dr. Edwards is remarkably described as someone who "walks a fine line between professional curiosity and personal investment in his patients' lives."
Gupton might also become Norma's love interest in Season 4, but the Normero fans shouldn't have to worry as the show's executive producer, Carlton Cuse, has confirmed that Norma and Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) will end up together.
Aside from Norman's degrading mental health, speculations around Norma's death and the coming of Dr. Edwards to the show, season 4 will also provide more focus in the romantic relationship between Norman's brother, Dylan (Max Thieriot) and his girlfriend Emma (Olivia Cooke).
A&E's "Bates Motel" Season 4 will premiere in spring of 2016.
