'Bates Motel' New Episodes News: Series Approved For Two More Seasons
Fans of A&E's 'Bates Motel' series will be happy to hear that the network has just recently approved for the show's extended run for two more seasons.
It has also been confirmed that the full story the show is setting out to tell will be fully fleshed out, detailing Norman Bates' rise to one of fiction's most iconic serial killers.
Here's the official from executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E and Lifetime Rob Sharenow:
"The vision of our incredible creative team has exposed the steady breakdown of the relationship between Norman and Norma Bates. We are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the next stages of Norman's transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history."
'Bates Motel' plans to start production on season 4 later this year, and airing later next year. It currently stars Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot, and Nestor Carbonell.
Based of of the classic 1960's horror film 'Psycho,' 'Bates Motel' serves as a modern day origin story for the deranged mother-obsessed serial killer Norman Bates.
"Down from Season 2, Bates Motel still drew a sizable audience, opening Season 3 with 2.1 million viewers in Live+same day and ending it with 1.7 million. The Returned launched with 1.5 million and closed out its maiden season with a 945,000 viewers. A&E already hinted at The Returned's fate by picking up a potential new companion for Bates, another offshoot from a classic movie, The Omen sequel Damien," writes Deadline.
