Banjo-Kazooie 2015 News, Rumors: Characters Rebooted and Playable in Super Smash DLC?

The 1998 Banjo-Kazooie game for Nintendo 64 was surely a fan favorite, and as of last it seems to be creating some waves on the Internet after a random tweet by @PedroDarkinson got a reply from Microsoft Head for Xbox, Phil Spencer.

"@XboxP3, Nintendo is holding a poll for the next Smash Bros DLC, and Banjo is a popular choice! It would mean so much if you could get him in," Tweeted @PedroDarkinson. To which, Phil Spencer replied with, "@PedroDarkinson I think it would be cool if Banjo was in the next SSB DLC. We've worked with Nintendo on Rare IP before, no issues."

Indeed, Spencer could be pertaining to Diddy Kong which is a Rare character currently in the lineup under Super Smash Bro's Brawl and also Donkey Kong Country Returns for 3DS.

This is spark of hope for those who grew up with the game, Banjo and Kazooie was created and produced by Rare in 1998, a subsidiary of Nintendo. Successful titles under their studio aside from the bear and bird tandem during the glory days with Nintendo were Donkey Kong Country, Perfect Dark and Battletoads. In 2002 Microsoft bought Rare and became the backbone for Kinect Sports.

Back in January, The Inner Circle was able to interview Xbox One's creative director, Ken Lobb. During the interview, Lobb had sparked the fire about the return of the Rare IP when Microsoft decidedly teased everyone with a resurrected and revamped 'Battletoads' Trademark.

"Will there ever be another Banjo, Viva, Blast Corps, Battletoads?" Lobb asks during the interview replying to himself with, "Yeah, someday."

Japan based game company Nintendo has not made any comment about this. Meanwhile, they are still open for suggestions as to which characters would they like to add to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl DLC lineup for 3DS and Wii U by a survey they had posted on their website. The survey would end in October, where they are likely going to tally and produce the character.
