Ballers Season 2 Finale Episode 10 Spoilers: Spencer's Career Is Up In The Air?

The final episode of "Ballers" season 2 picks up where the previous episode left off. Spencer's career is up in the air and his money problems are just too much for him to handle.

The episode opens with Spencer thinking of buying out the rights to his former firm, ASM. However, things don't go as smoothly as he expects. Anderson suggests that he get his NFLPA registration approved, which is a prerequisite for his return to the financial management world. With only a few options on his table, Spencer agrees to reapply to the NFLPA program.

He then goes to the Rookie Symposium in Canton, Ohio to convince Eddie George to annul a financial grievance that he filed against him. The confrontation between Spencer and Eddie is so emotional that the former realizes how he has hit rock bottom.

Towards the end of the episode, Spencer gives a speech to the rookies at the symposium about being careful and smart with their finances. He also warns them against the "snakes in $5,000 suits," which he realizes he might just be one of. While delivering his speech, it dawns on him that he is actually one of those smooth-talking guys he wants to protect his athletes against when he became a financial advisor. He realizes how he has put his ambitions before theirs, costing him almost everything.

The season 2 finale succeeds in getting its message across. The episode clearly shows Spencer spiral out of control as a result of his poor financial decisions. The final scene suggests that in spite of everything, he still has a chance to change.

"Ballers" season 3 will premiere on HBO in 2017.
