BAFTA Awards 2015 Nominations List: Jake Gyllenhall, Michael Keaton, Rosamund Pike All Up for Awards
2014 was a stellar year for television and film, with incredible releases like 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', and 'The Imitation Game'. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, or BAFTA for short, hopes to celebrate some of the best films of 2014. This Friday, the 2015 BAFTA Film Awards has released their nominations for best film, actor, actress, and more.
Here is a brief overview of the nominations for the 2015 BAFTA Film Awards:
For the category, Best Film, BAFTA has nominated 'Birdman', 'Boyhood', 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', 'The Imitation Game', and 'The Theory of Everything'. Many of these movies have also been nominated for the Golden Globe Award, and are films chosen from any source.
In the category, Outstanding British Film, British films are distinguished from any other film. 'The Imitation Game' and 'The Theory of Everything' have also been nominated for this category, along with the movies: '71', 'Paddington', 'Pride' and 'Under The Skin'.
The nominated of the Actor, Actress and Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress BAFTA awards are chosen for their superb performances in their films. Some of the nominees include Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Jake Gyllenhall, Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne for leading Actor; Amy Adams, Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike and Reese Witherspoon for Actress.
The BAFTA Film Awards also have nominations for Foreign Film, including 'Ida', 'Leviathan', 'The Lunchbox', 'Trash' and 'Two Days, One Night'.
This year, the ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry. They will be broadcasted on BBC One almost all over the world. It's clear that we are in for an exciting night for the 2015 BAFTA Film Awards.
