BAFTA TV 2015 News: List of Winners Include 'Sherlock', 'Murdered by My Boyfriend', & More
The night of the BAFTAs was one of utter suspense for everyone involved, however, only a few were awarded the honor of the golden mask.
Benedict Cumberbatch was not awarded one, as Jason Watkins beat him in the category for Leading Actor, with his role in The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies which took home the prize in the Mini Series category.
Georgina Campbell, a newcomer was able to take home the award for Leading Actress for the programme that she stars in about domestic violence, Murdered By My Boyfriend.
She was going up against Sheridan Smith, Sarah Lancashire, and Keeley Hawes.
Some shows no one was shocked to see take home prizes included Sherlock for the Radio Times Audience Award and Happy Valley for Best Drama.
Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway won the prize for the Entertainment Programme category and its title characters won best Entertainment Performance, while Life and Death Row won Factual Series and True Detective won International.
In News Coverage, sky News Live at Five's Ebola Reports won the prize, and Grand Designs took the golden mask for Features.
For Single Documentary, The Paedophile Hunter won, and for Sport and Live Event World War One Remembered was chosen to be number one.
In the Supporting Actor and Actress categories, Stephen Rhea won for The Honourable Woman and Gemma Jones won for Marvellous, respectively.
Jeff Pope received the Special Award, and The Graham Norton Show won best Comedy and Comedy Entertainment Programme.
Coronation Street won out against its competitors for Soap and Continuing Drama, while Detectorists won the best Scripted Comedy.
The Island with Bear Grylls won best Reality and Constructed Factual.
