A volcano erupted on the Bachelor In Paradise set this week when it came to light that Samantha and Joe had had contact before they came on set.

When Juelia and Jade tried to talk to Samantha about it, Samantha showed that she didn't trust them by involving Joe in the conversation.

Tanner then revealed that Joe had shown him screenshots of texts sent by Samantha asking him to do whatever it takes to stay on set until she arrived.

When Tanner and Jared tried to confront Joe about it, Samantha shut them out, as well as the cameras.

The conversation was still captured, however, and in it she is heard telling Joe that she told the producers she had only encountered him on social media and that she had refused to talk to him before the show.

Once Joe revealed to her that he had actually already told Tanner and Jared about their alliance, she suggested he change his story and say that although he had tried to contact her, she had refused.

Meanwhile, Ashley S., who was still reeling from Dan's rebuff, was happy to see the return of Amber from the Chris Soule season.

Ashley S.'s initial happiness to see her friend changed, however, when Amber asked Dan out. Although Dan talked to Ashley about it, she was still upset about how he suddenly turned cold on her.

The date between Amber and Dan went well, as did the date between Megan and JJ. JJ's good mood changed, however, when he heard about what had happened between Samantha, Joe and Juelia.

He and Joe started a huge argument in which Joe called JJ the dumbest person he'd ever met. When Joe walked away, JJ called him back "so he could punch his teeth out."
