Jenna is set to work in summer while Tamara and Sadie become best friends in "Awkward" season 5 episode 13.

"Awkward" season 5 episode 13 is entitled "I'm the Kind of Girl Who Found Her Voice in College." According to TV Line, the episode saw Jenna as a summer fellow at Idea Bin. As per the publication, the people who work at the firm, which includes Jenna's boss, are "mind-boggingly insufferable." In fact, Jenna also spent her summer together with Luke.

Previously, Jenna and Matty shared a good relationship until something happened between the two of them, which led them to split up. The former called the latter's new partner a "sloppy rando" while the latter called the former a "self-righteous hippie chick," who thought that she was better than everyone.

Episode 13 also saw a development in the relationship of Sadie and Tamara as friends, as they spent twelve months bonding in New York City. As per the publication, Tamara no longer wants to fly coach anymore, since it was "so not chic." On the other hand, Sadie can now be compared to a monster, but it is assumed that she is pitiful, as she learned that Sergio managed to move on.

As for Lissa, she is working as a new nanny for Lacey and Kevin, while Jake is now working at the local country club. It was revealed that the latter manages to sleep over whenever he desires. The current story arc of "Awkward" season 5 also reflects that they have been reunited.

According to MTV, the second half of "Awkward" season 5 started at the start of summer, a year following the last time fans had seen Jenna and her friends. As per the publication, Jenna came back with a new found self-esteem as she began a thrilling summer fellowship at an internet start-up. She then reconnected with her friends in high school, indicating that she had missed a lot of things. The summer was also set to unveil friendship, romance, mystery, and self-discovery.

"Awkward" season 5 episode 13 aired on Mar. 15 while episode 14 airs on Mar. 22.
