Episode 16 of "Awkward" season 5 saw Jenna's relationships with Luke and Tamara hitting another snag.

Titled "Best Friends for Never," the episode showed how making adjustments has never been as easy as pie for Jenna, who returned home to Palos Hills for the summer break. In fact, she learned that there are things she could not succeed completely adjusting to, no matter how hard she tries.

Jenna and Tamara started to have a huge falling out when Jenna learned of her friend's budding friendship with, of all people, Saddie. However, she invited Tamara to apply at Idea Bin when an ad sales intern job opened, thinking that she was a perfect fit for the job. Also, she thought having a friend to work with would be nice, considering the outcast that she was at Idea Bin.

When Tamara was hired, Jenna started regretting her decision to let her tag along after realizing that being in the same work crowd as Tamara might have serious consequences.

Jenna felt jealous that Tamara found it so easy to blend with the members of the Idea Bin when she, who has been with Idea Bin for such a long time, still felt left out.

Things got worse for Jenna when she began dating and sleeping with Luke, who shocked her with an intense case of déjà vu from her previous relationship with Matty and told her that nobody should know about their affection for each other.

Meanwhile, Matty talked to his mom Lacey about his feelings for Jenna, and it seems that there's a reconciliation coming for the two of them as Lacey encouraged her son to open up to Jenna.

"Why don't you stick around and tell her that yourself?" she told Matty.
