Award-Winning Biopic 'Victor' Now Available To Stream On Netflix
"Victor," the award-winning drama sharing the true story of Victor Torres, is available now on the Netflix platform.
"Victor" shares the inspiring true story of gang leader turned pastor Victor Torres. As a teenager in the early 1960's, Victor was forced to survive the dark streets of Brooklyn after his family moved from Puerto Rico. Victor had a hunger to make fast money to support his family, and was quickly enslaved by the power of the gang community. As he rose as a leader in the Roman Lords street gang, he fell into an all-consuming addiction to heroin. Victor needed healing and restoration before he destroyed his family and himself. "Victor" tells his redemptive story of the rebellion of a son, the love of a mother, and the faith to overcome impossible odds.
"Victor" recently was awarded four awards at the International Christian Visual Media Association's annual conference. The film received three Gold Crown Awards, being named Best Evangelistic Film, Best Youth Film and Best Drama over $250,000. The film also received the Silver Crown for Best Picture.
"We are honored that Netflix has added 'Victor' to its ever expanding, streaming audience," states Chris Bueno, CEO of Ocean Avenue Entertainment. "There are now 52 million subscribers in the United States and when you consider there are an average of 2.5 users per subscriber, that translates to over 125 million people."
"However, 'Victor' is also available through Netflix in all of South America (including Brazil), Canada, UK, Ireland Australia and New Zealand. We believe there will be hundreds of thousands, even millions of people who can now find this film on Netflix and discover its message of hope and healing."
After a successful theatrical run in select markets, "Victor" released early this summer on DVD and Digital HD through all major digital channels including iTunes, Amazon, VUDU and Google Play, streaming on ChristianCinema.com and via Theatrical On Demand through GATHR. The film is also available at brick and mortar retail stores including WalMart and stores in the CBA Marketplace.
Through a partnership with Outreach, organizations and churches that want to share this powerful story of hope and restoration with their communities can also access affordable site licenses. "Victor" was produced by GW Films, Spiral Films and is distributed through Ocean Ave. Entertainment.
"Victor" stars Patrick Davis ("In The Name of God," "From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series"), Josh Pence ("La La Land," "The Social Network"), Lisa Vidal ("Star Trek," "American Horror Story"), Jose Zuniga ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Lobo Sebastian ("The Longest Yard," "CSI: Miami") and Haley Ramm ("Into The Wild," "X-Men: The Last Stand").
