Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger News: Celebrity Couple Announces Split After Two Years of Marriage

It is a sad day today for the music industry since famous rock star Avril Lavigne and husband of two years Chad Kroeger announced their separation. It was shocking for many but for both parties it is however finally time to separate but they are assuring everyone that their friendship is still there.

Lavigne took to her social media the sad announcement posting a photo of her and Kroeger back during their wedding day. It was ironic to post a wedding photo but for Lavigne, it was a memory that she will treasure forever.

"It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," 30-year-old Lavigne wrote on her Instagram alongside the photo adding, "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support."

The two wed back in July of 2013 and rumors claim that things slowly died down for the two musicians apparently, the married couple reportedly got "complicated" as time goes by. "Honestly, she's doing OK," an insider told E! News. "This has been in the works for awhile."

Lavigne who was also reported to have been battling Lyme disease made it even harder for her during a tough time in her marriage. "Avril is still sick, so she's not working much-just here and there," the source continued. "It's been a tough year. But these days, she's living in L.A. and has a very close, supportive group of friends. She's focused on her recovery but she knows it's going to take time."

The source even claims further that the two planned on even having children but it wasn't for them apparently. "They talked about having kids but it just never happened," adds the source. However, "Chad is being supportive," the insider says. "At the end of the day, they just didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things." Moreover, "their friends and their social circles never really mixed."
