Avengers 2 Age of Ultron Movie Cast News: Robert Downey Jr Says There Will Be No Iron Man 4

In latest 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' news, Robert Downey Jr. recently talked about multiple topics including the future of his beloved Iron Man character following the release of the upcoming Marvel film.

"There isn't one in the pipe," said Downey Jr to Variety, "No, there's no plan for a fourth 'Iron Man.'"

The legendary actor made the startling comment when he promoted his new film 'The Judge' at the Toronto International Film Festival, which also starred movie icon Robert Duvall of 'The Godfather', 'Apocalypse Now', and 'The Apostle' fame.

"Don't give it (the role of playing as Iron Man) to anybody else," said co-star Robert Duvall to Downey Jr. during the duel interview.

The 49-year-old New York City native also talked about how honored he was to work with the 83-year-old actor in their new drama film that is expected to be released in the US on October 10.

"Maybe it'll be trilogy, like that other series he (Duvall) was in," joked Downey Jr in reference to the legendary 'The Godfather' film trilogy which also starred Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Marlon Brando, Talia Shire and James Caan to name a few. "I heard two of those were good."

In another interview, Downey revealed his thoughts regarding potential standalone Marvel films for other Marvel characters like Hawkeye and the Hulk, similar to his blockbuster 'Iron Man' trilogy movies.

"The funny thing is honestly at this point everyone deserves a franchise. I think Jeremy Renner is - when folks see the 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' he's just a rock star, a bad***. And [Mark] Ruffalo is pumped," said Downey to USA Today in a recent discussion.

"He does great (work). I'd like to hear them talk even more seriously about a 'Hulk' franchise, because that's been one of the toughest ones to get right. But I'm sure that my parent company is feeling expansive and bold after the summer they've had."

Downey will return as Iron Man to lead the all-star roster against Ultron. Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) are among the numerous actors set to reprise their role when 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' returns to the big screen on May 1, 2015.
