'Avatar 2' Release Date Delayed Again, Now Sequel Film To Come Out Summer 2018?

"Avatar 2" is once again announced delayed seven years after its predecessor championed in the cinemas. Earlier, the sequel film was set to be released for Christmas 2017.

The postponement did not come without a clue since director James Cameron had already said "I don't consider that (release date) to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart."

The 2017 release date was never officially confirmed by 20th Century Fox, although various insider reports have given the date.

Cameron himself thought of Christmas 2017 as a possible showing schedule.

Nonetheless, fans are assured that three Avatar films are in the works and will surely hit the theaters in time.

The postponement is hardly "Avatar 2's" first. The three films were also rumored for release in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Episode VIII," will hit the cinemas on Dec. 15, 2017, seven months ahead of its initial screening date. Rumor has it that Disney rushed "Star Wars" because they knew "Avatar" will be pushed back and they will have no major competitor within the time frame.

Slashfilm further claims that Disney will never go head to head with "Avatar 2" because the rivalry will most likely lower their IMAX screen count. Not to mention there's an Avatar installment being drawn for their theme parks.

While its best to stop anticipating, Avatar's possible set of release dates at the moment include summer 2018 for the next movie and 2019 and 2020 for the last two films.

Come to think of it the delays are expected for a masterpiece like "Avatar." The first movie was announced by Cameron in 1996 but was finally seen in 2009.

In the other "Avatar" news, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are reprising their lead roles.

The story will expand to whole new worlds and fascinating habitats and cultures that we are still yet to witness. We will come across fresh characters and bizarre new creatures.

Their will also be picturesque underwater scenes and Sigourney Weaver will probably be back. The rest of the plot remain top secret.
