Author Harper Lee News: Reporter Brushed Off after Inquiring about 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' Sequel Story

After months of speculation regarding the release of famous 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' author Harper Lee's sequel story, 'Go Set A Watchman', the media is once again being pushed away. The aging Award-winning author, or her representatives, recently sent back a two-page letter written to Lee, with a note that read "go away."

It has been widely known that Lee is not very welcoming towards the media especially since she is 88-years- old and media attention is of course a big headache to some.

Just recently, in an inquisitive letter by an investigative reporter from Alabama named Connor Sheets, the letter was sent back to him with a note that says, "Go Away! Harper Lee," and was handwritten which many are speculating that it was Lee's handwriting herself although this is still not confirmed.

The letter basically inquires about Lee's upcoming book 'Go Set A Watchman' and her current condition. "Most of them are concerned about you and what is happening with Go Set a Watchman and your legacy", and how "many worry that maybe you are being exploited," the letter stated.

Sheets even complimented the author saying that the people would want to know the details personally from her. "No one wants to believe these things, but all we have heard from you since the announcement that you would be releasing a second novel is statements through Carter and your publisher. The people who love your work would love to hear what you have to say in your own words, to hear it straight from you and not through the filter of an intermediary," the letter continued.

However, despite the heartfelt words, Lee wasn't open to sharing the details of her new book which was announced to be released this summer. Meanwhile, the media is still waiting for Lee's representatives to respond about the reports of her pushing away the media in getting the details of her sequel story.
