Author Darlene Brock has announced the release of her latest book Raising Great Girls: Help For Moms To Raise Confident, Capable Daughters (Perfection Not Required) releasing on Aug. 21. The new book aims to be both a resource and comfort, helping to conquer the idea of raising great girls in today's age.

"I believe that a woman's strength is her truest beauty," Brock says. "I also understand that strength begins at a very early age. As mothers, we have the opportunity to instill in our daughters the knowledge that this quality is within them. It's my goal to help mothers know how to do that."

From two decades of leadership in the music business to fostering a safe community for women known as The Grit & Grace Project, Brock draws from the reality of raising two daughters while working, traveling, and what she calls juggling the impossible equilibrium of life.

"When my hindsight takes a moment to list the riches of my life, my daughters take the lion's share," Brock says. "Whether the girls who are in your life came through marriage, foster care, adoption, or by birth, a mother's hope and desire is to raise them to be great ones-girls who have the grit to get through life with perseverance, standing up for themselves, as well as others."

She adds, "It's not that I'm saying this is how to raise a perfect daughter, I'm not. Neither am I offering a no-fail guide to becoming a perfect mother. Perfect mothers or daughters don't exist, and that's ok because there are some pretty great ones. If your goal is to be one of those moms who raise one of those girls this book is for you."

To celebrate the launch of her new book, Brock will be hosting a release party on Aug. 21 between 6-8 p.m. at Evereve in CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin, Tenn. The event is free entry and features refreshments and book giveaways, and anyone interested is asked to reserve a spot via Eventbrite.com.
