'Attack On Titan' Season 2 Spoilers: Upcoming Season To Put Spotlight On Reiss Family

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is reportedly going to uncover the mystery involving the Titan found inside the wall, as well as the power of the Reiss family. It will also tackle how Eren becomes a king.

Avid viewers of the series know that in order to maintain their power, the Reiss family has this special ritual for each generation, in which the predecessor gets chained underneath the Reiss chapel, until the successor injects himself with a serum to transform himself into a Titan. Then, he devours the predecessor who has the Coordinate, who is the true King or Queen of Mankind.

In the story, the ritual of devouring the predecessor has already been practiced for a century until a Titan Shifter, Grisha Yeager, attacked the Reiss family and eliminated most of its members except for Historia Reiss and Rod Reiss.

One of the major storylines of season 2 will involve Krista and her rise to power, as she turns out to be Historia Reiss. Rumors also have it that Eren will find himself in a difficult position as he gets eaten by Krista, who wants to get the power of the Coordinate.

Fans of the series speculate that if the upcoming season will follow the story of the Reiss family, it is possible that Rod Reiss will pressure Krista to inject herself with the serum before eating Eren. However, it is also possible that she will not allow this to happen, so Rod will be the one to inject himself with the serum and become the largest Titan.

"Attack on Titan" season 2 is expected to arrive in fall of 2017.
