'Attack on Titan' Season 2 Release Date News, Series Manga: Why Is Second Season Pushed Back?

Following the success of its predecessor, it has been revealed that fans are yet to wait longer, as the release of "Attack on Titan" season 2 has been delayed.

According to Movie Pilot, the main reason for the delay in the second season of the hit anime series "Attack on Titan" is due to parallelism between the manga and the anime. As per the publication, franchise creator and director Hajime Isayama and Tetsuro Araki expect the manga to be four story arcs in advance to the anime series.

The "Attack on Titan" manga is currently two story arcs ahead of the series, according to Movie News Guide. If the former manages to complete the four story arcs in advance to the latter, it would be easier to the creators of the anime iteration to produce episodes that exactly mirror the contents of the written iteration. This means a season that displays a clear storyline without chapter fillers.

As per the publication, the unison between "Attack of Titan's" manga and anime series led to its success. This implies that the audience was able to grasp a season full of suspense and efficient story arc build-up, since the manga provides a clear path to the story arc of the anime.

According to Tech Times, the delayed season 2 for "Attack of Titan" could benefit the anime itself. As per the publication, being faithful with the manga story line would be a better move for the franchise, instead of setting up a new path with a new storyline.

For the time being, it is assumed that "Attack on Titan" will air this year, but the exact date of release is yet to be announced.
