'Attack On Titan' Season 2 Release Date: Upcoming Season To Deviate From Hajime Isayama's Manga?
While fans have to wait until next year for the premiere of "Attack on Titan" season 2, speculations about its plot continue to grow.
Rumor has it that the upcoming season will not follow the original manga by Hajime Isayama. Since rumors about season 2 deviating from its source came out, fans have been hoping that the creators of the series will change its course and remain faithful to the manga.
Some believe that the deviation might invite backlash among fans, especially since most of them hope that the series will not take a different route.
On the contrary, previous reports about season 2 suggested that the anime will pick up where season 1 left off. Season 1 covered the first four story arcs of the manga, including the "Fall of Shiganshina," "104th Training Corps," "Battle of Trost District," and "The Female Titan."
Since the first season covered four story arcs, fans expect that the upcoming season will also cover four story arcs. However, only three story arcs are available at the moment so there are speculations that season 2 will pick up with the "Clash of the Titans" arc. This is highly likely since the promotional poster for the new series features Colossus Titan as he tries to break the wall, while Eren, Armin and Mikasa prepare for a battle with another Titan.
Some also speculate that the three story arcs available at the moment are enough to cover the upcoming season. This is because the fifth and sixth stories in the manga, "Clash of the Titans" and "Uprising," collectively have a total of 36 chapters. The first season covered 36 chapters.
"Attack on Titan" season 2 is slated for release in 2017.
