'Attack on Titan: Part 1' Live-Action Movie Spoilers: First Trailer with English Subtitles Released [VIDEO]
The latest trailer for the 'Attack on Titan: Part 1' live-action movie certainly proves one thing and that is, the Titans are incredibly frightening. This is the first footage of the much-anticipated film that comes with English subtitles. Besides, it is sufficiently long and shows the fans how thrilling the movie will be.
Christian Today reports that the new video clip runs for three minutes and demonstrates a group of flesh-eating Titans, while they break the walls meant to prevent them from entering the confined civilization area to ensure the safety of the people. Although the concrete barriers were supposed to be impenetrable, they were insufficient to restrain the starving Titans.
For the uninitiated, the two-part live-action film will be retelling the story of Hajime Isayama's manga series. In fact, the manga series has been so popular that it also inspired an anime series. While the second season of the anime series is now on the way; the series has also inspired video games and currently it enjoys an immense, loyal following.
The story of the 'Attack on Titan Part 1' live-action adaptation of the bestselling manga follows Eren, in company with his two friends, as he joins the armed forces on a mission to take down the ruthless monsters that feed on humans. In fact, some of them have even devoured Eren's loved ones, besides wrecking everything they set foot on.
According to IGN, unlike the anime series, the much-anticipated movie is not as faithful to its source material - the manga. The filmmakers have introduced some changes including Levi being substituted by seven new characters. From what is evident in the trailer, the movie also introduces a romance between Eren and Mikasa.
The world premiere for the 'Attack on Titan: Part 1' live-action film was held at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles July 14. The film is distributed by Funimation Entertainment, and will be shown in the U.S. this fall.
The second part of the manga adaptation titled 'Attack on Titan: End of the World' will be released in Japan on Sept. 15. As of now, there is no news regarding its release in the U.S.
Meanwhile, a three-installment mini-series, which serves as a tie-in to the movies, will stream in dTV on Aug. 15.
