'Attack on Titan' News, Rumors: Series to Spawn Live Action Television Show?

'Attack on Titan' fans can start rejoicing now, as accompanying the recent news of the two movies being released in the next couple months, the same team will be working on a live action TV series based on the films.

According to the Anime News Network, the show will "tell a new story about the everyday lives and secrets of soldiers, and will tie in to the two live-action films."

The actors in the movies will be reprising their roles, with Satomi Ishihara starring as Hanji. The rest of the cast includes Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha, Shu Watanabe as Fukushi, Rina Takeda as Lil, and Ayame Misaki as Hiana. There will also be a new character introduced that will be played by Y?ta Hiraoka.

The series will be directed by the movie's director, Sinji Higuchi, with manga creator Hajime Isayama consulting on the whole thing.

"Higuchi stated that, with the supervision of Attack on Titan manga creator Hajime Isayama, the story will be based on the world and characters of the manga, while incorporating new characters and new formidable enemies," writes Anime News Network.

The series is set to premiere in August on dTV.
