Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid Second Leg Preview, Live Stream Link: How to Watch Football Match Online
Real Madrid has not won against their neighbors Atletico Madrid this season, but have the comfort in knowing they can move on by eking out a win at the Bernabeu on Wednesday in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal.
This will be their eighth game against Atletico, and including last week's draw during the first leg, they haven't beaten them since the Champions League Final last season.
If there's one thing going for the Los Blancos going into this match, it's history. Real Madrid has lost just one of their last 22 Champions League matches at home, while winning 19 times during that stretch. Similarly, Real has won all but one of their last 22 European ties where they managed a draw on the road.
What's going to be a challenge to keep that good record going, though, are injuries. During last Saturday's win against Malaga, both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale sustained injuries that will keep them out of the game at the Bernabeu. Modric suffered a knee injury, which is projected to keep him out for six weeks, while Bale's calf injury could see him miss some three weeks.
Atletico does not have the same problem, apart from Mario Suarez suspended for the Wednesday match after getting booked in the first leg. Raul Garcia, though, is back for Atletico and could start in the second leg.
Despite Real's history of performing well off a road draw during first leg matchups, Atletico have appeared to be undaunted by the Bernabeu faithful. Going into Wednesday's game, they've already registered two draws as well as a victory on their rival's home pitch.
It should be an interesting match between these two Spanish giants who are both looking to book a semis seat. The match is scheduled for kick-off on Wednesday, April 22 at 7:45 p.m. BST, you can catch the action via live stream here.
