English comedian and actor Stephen Fry severely insulted God in a recent interview, which sparked a response from a prominent Christian church member.

The 57-year-old Hampstead, London, United Kingdom native made the blasphemous remarks when he was asked what he would say to God if he met him in heaven.

"Bone cancer in children? What's that about? How dare you," said Fry to Ireland's RTE longtime host Gay Byrne in an interview.

"How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault. It's not right. It's utterly, utterly evil. Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God who creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain?"

Fry continued to express his viewpoint regarding God and his nature in the controversial interview that aired a few days ago.

"It's perfectly apparent that he is monstrous," said Fry.

"Utterly monstrous and deserves no respect whatsoever. The moment you banish him, life becomes simpler, purer, cleaner, more worth living in my opinion."

In addition, Fry also went on social media in order to discuss his thoughts regarding his latest interview after the discussion was released online.

"Oh dear, I did give poor old God a bit of a kicking here, didn't I?!" wrote Fry on Twitter on January 30.

As a result of Fry's inflammatory comments, Ireland's Presbyterian Church Rev. Ian McNie expressed his disproval of the 'Blackadder' and 'V for Vendetta' actor.

"Until Stephen Fry's spiritual blind eyes are opened he will say what he has said, because he has said what he has said he has only confirmed what the Bible teaches," said McNie, according to The Independent.

"I felt sorry for the man that his understanding of life is simply confined to the here and now and from his position of atheism there is no hope for the future."
