AT&T U-Verse Data Cap News: Almost Unlimited Internet Data Given For Subscribers

Telecom company AT&T has just given an early Christmas gift to the subscribers of its U-verse subscribers, following the news about the data cap being increased to 1 TB.

According to the news article from Sun-Sentinel, AT&T will increase the data cap for home U-verse subscribers starting on Aug. 21.

That's a huge leap from the previous 300 GB of data cap per month for the U-verse subscribers.

Those who are subscribed to the GigaPower plan will also get the same data limit, at speeds of 1 GB per second. However, this is not available to all areas, so better check with your network if you are included.

Cheryl Choy, vice president of data and voice products, shared the news about the AT&T data cap for both U-verse and GigaPower subscribers.

"If you have AT&T U-verse Internet and DIRECTV® or U-verse TV service and pay for your services on a single bill, or if you subscribe to the 1Gbps speed tier on the AT&T GigaPower network, you will automatically get unlimited home internet data at no additional charge," she explained.

She said that subscribers with Internet speeds of below 12Mbps, they can triple their amount of data. Those belonging to the 12Mbps to 75Mbps range will see their monthly data cap double.

Choy also shared the news that 1 TB of data cap under the AT&T U-verse plan means that subscribers can view HD videos up to 13 hours per day. Subscribers with no unlimited data will get a notification when they approach their limits.

"Starting Aug. 1, we'll notify U-verse internet customers via their monthly statement, email and online tools about this increase and unlimited internet data options," she said.
