AT&T Galaxy Tab S2 Android 6.0.1. Marshmallow Update: Android Update Unveils NumberSync Feature
Along with the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, it is revealed that the newest operating system is set to be run by the AT&T Galaxy Tab S2.
AT&T has began spreading the Android Marshamallow update to its Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 units, GSM Arena has learned. As per the publication, the update comes with the Android version 6.0.1, which means that the device has to dedicate a total storage size of 1074MB.
As per the publication, the said update features NumberSync, in addition to Google Now on Tap, Doze, and other applications that have been redesigned. It is further revealed that NumberSync allows its users to use their tablet to make and receive phone and video calls with their existing contact number. This means that users can perform the calls even they do not have their smartphones with them.
AT&T integrating Android Marshmallow to its Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 seems to be a logical move for the company, according to Android Police. As per the publication, while the Tab S2 is not AT&T's current flagship on the market, doing so would let it stand side by side with Verizon, which just did the same to some of its units.
To download the update, the device has to have adequate power and Wi-Fi connection. The user swipes down from the top of the screen and taps the Settings icon. Then, he scrolls down and taps About device, Software update, and Check for updates. On-screen prompts will appear, indicating that the update can be downloaded and installed. Following a successful installation, the device restarts automatically.
As per AT&T's official website, the update, which includes the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and the NumberSync feature, was effective on July 8.
