Asus VivoWatch Specs News: Long Battery Life Device to Compete with Apple Watch [VIDEO]
Since Apple Inc. unveiled its highly anticipated wearable device - Apple Watch, last month, there has been lots of debate regarding the device's battery, which is said to last for roughly a day on full charge. While some tech experts believe that this is a downside of the wearable device, Asus hopes to exploit this weakness in its rival's product.
In fact, the Asus ZenWatch, which was released last year, is not one of the most sophisticated or fascinating smartwatch in the market now. Therefore, the device is not a genuine competitor of the Apple Watch by any means. Nevertheless, it may be an altogether different issue when Asus comes out with its next smartwatch.
TechRadar reports that an upcoming Asus smart watch has been apparently named the Asus VivoWatch and it is expected to pack a 10-day battery life cell.
Engadget reports that the purported Asus VivoWatch will focus on the fitness aspect. In addition, the upcoming smart watch may also come with other bells as well as whistles such as sleep and heart rate tracking and GPS.
All said and done, the unique selling point (USP) of the purported Asus VivoWatch will be its battery. The battery is said to have an extra-long life to directly counter the so-called weakness of the Apple Watch.
Apart from the significant battery life, the next gen Asus smart watch is also expected to come with a proficient black and white display/ colored LED light combo. In addition, the device may not run Android Wear.
While not much detail regarding the purported Asus VivoWatch is available at this moment, it is likely that Asus will announce the price of the upcoming VivoWatch sometime this week, reports TechRadar.
