‘Assassin’s Creed: Unity’ Problems, Bugs: Ubisoft Stops Season Pass Sales, Offers Free Games as Apology
Ubisoft is reportedly offering free games to their gamers and loyal customers after they put a stop to season pass sales for their latest game, 'Assassin's Creed: Unity'.
Ubisoft is still in the process of fixing the glitches, bug problems and low frame rates that continue to plague their latest 'AC' game. As their customers continue to wait for these fixes, Ubisoft along with Best Buy, Steam, and GameStop have decided to stop selling the 'Assassin's Creed: Unity' season passed. As a result, Ubisoft is offering games at no cost at all.
The company's Montreal and Toronto branch CEO Yannis Mallat issued an apology and made the announcement in a post on their official website. He said that the 'Assassin's Creed' Dead Kings DLC, the first downloadable pack for 'Assassin's Creed: Unity', is being released for free.
Dead Kings was initially meant to be sold by itself as part of the season pass for 'Assassin's Creed: Unity', according to Venture Beat.
Now that 'Dead Kings' is free though, Mallat explained that those that already have season passes will be able to avail a free game from one of six Ubisoft games. The choices include 'Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag', 'Watch Dogs', 'The Crew', 'Far Cry 4', 'Just Dance 2015' and 'Rayman Legends'.
"We are committed to delivering further fixes for other issues you've raised," Mallat wrote, "Please keep the feedback coming. It has been both humbling and incredibly helpful."
No announcements have been made on whether or not gamers can get a refund for their $30 season pass, but they do have 'Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China' to look forward to in early 2015.
Along with the free games, Ubisoft also released their Patch 3 of fixes for 'Assassin's Creed: Unity', according to Venture Beat. They are hoping the latest patch will help fix some of the performance and stability issues that are inherent in the game, though they are still in the process of making more patches and fixes.
