'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' Gameplay News: New Cities & ‘Special’ Rewards System
Fans of 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' are eager to know what the new historical action-adventure video game from Ubisoft Qubec has in store for them. With a view to whet the fans' appetite, the game's creative director revealed some new details regarding the upcoming title's setting and gameplay in an interview ti the official Xbox Magazine.
Latin Post reports that Cote revealed that 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate' will be set in Victorian London and will reportedly incorporate a new "rewards system" for the players to enjoy.
Cote said that though the developers have been toying with the idea of developing a game set in Victorian London for a long time now, they were unable to release a game in that setting earties owing to certain factors.
"Victorian London has much wider streets. It's got a long field of view, as well," Cote said, adding, "I think we needed to wait and have the power of next-gen to showcase it in a way that would do the setting justice."
According to Cote, Ubisoft wanted to recreate London's environment during that period and also allow the players to get a feeling of traveling from one location to another while playing the game. He revealed that the developers have already completed the bulk of the development work in recreating the city and its Burroughs look and feel entirely different from one another.
Talking to Xbox Magazine, Cote said, "Our biggest investment without a doubt is in the city itself." He added, "In creating a city that lives and breathes - a city that is, for the first time in the history of the franchise, full of movement."
In addition to the lively setting, the latest title from Ubisoft will also incorporate vehicles like carriages.
In an interview with Games Radar, Cote said, "Any carriages that the player can see, they can interact with," adding, "They can hop on top of boats and trains to manipulate them to their advantage."
In addition, the developers have also incorporated the use of a rope launcher for players to scale taller buildings in 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate.' Now, gamers will also be able to "parkour" through the city with the additional features.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has confirmed on its official blog that a special rewards program dubbed as "Join The Family" will also be incorporated in 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate.'
The blog said, "By completing activities like reading articles, taking fan surveys or watching trailers, you can rack up points that can then be entered into winning awesome stuff like a trip to San Diego Comic-Con or a beautiful Assassin's Creed Syndicate skinned PS4 console."
The upcoming title will also reintroduce the 'Spin to Win' slot machine game and players will be able to take the game five times every week to collect some points that are added into the Join the Family rewards program.
