'Assassin's Creed' New Cast News, Rumors: Actress Alicia Vikander Tapped for Role?
Recent news has suggested that actress Alicia Vikander's schedule is soon to get a lot more busy, as along with her just getting casted in 'The Circle' with Tom Hanks, there is talk that she has been tapped for main roles in both the 'Assassin's Creed' film, and the new 'Bourne' movie. It has been said that her participation in both films would lead her to drop out of 'The Circle.'
"The Circle, based on a Dave Eggers novel and written and directed by James Ponsoldt, was one of the hottest titles at the just-wrapped Cannes market. Vikander's attachment was only announced on the eve of of the festival - to play a young employee at a tech company called The Circle, who gets involved with a mysterious man - with IM Global virtually selling out international with a slew of big indie deals," writes Deadline.
Vikander's performance as the cyborg AI in 'Ex Machina' this year has seemed to have earned her quite the attention. The roles she would play in both films have yet to be disclosed.
The 'Assassin's Creed' project would see Michael Fassbender and Vikander reunited on the big screen once again since their movie 'Macbeth.'
"The Assassin's Creed video game has sold over 91 million units. Production is set to begin in early fall for a December 21, 2016 release through Fox, and the film is being co-financed by RatPac and Alpha Pictures. Frank Marshall, Arnon Milchan, Jean-Julien Baronnet, Conor McCaughan, Fassbender and Pat Crowley are producing. Bill Collage, Adam Cooper and Michael Lesslie scripted," writes Deadline.
The new 'Bourne' film is slated for release on July 29, 2016.
