'Assassin's Creed' Movie Premiere, Cast News: Film to Debut on Dec. 21, 2016 - Stars Michael Fassbender
The release of the "Assassin's Creed' movie has been changed from Aug. 7, 2015 to Dec. 16, 2016, according to 20th Century Fox.
The movie has officially entered production and is expected to start shooting soon, chief executive officer Yves Guillemot announced, according to GameSpot.
"We have the pleasure to announce today that the green light has been given by New Regency, and the production has already started.This is a very important milestone for the project and for our team on Assassin's Creed," Guillemot said, according to Den of Geek.
Michael Fassbender, who is reportedly playing the lead in the movie adaptation of the game, announced that he is still very much involved with the movie, according to IGN. The movie will be directed by Justin Kurzel.
Speaking about his role in the movie and the rumors that have come about regarding the movie, Fassbender said, "I love these rumors! It's fantastic. People talk about it, and they're hopefully interested. Nothing has changed, yeah. I'm still a part of 'Assassin's Creed,' and we're working on the script as we speak. Actually, I'm going to go back and see the writers when I get back to Europe."
He also added, "I'm really excited about it, and we're working very hard to make sure that we've got the best and most exciting, original package," according to IGN.
Although the basis of the movie is well-known, it is still unclear as to what the main focus of the movie will be or which characters the film will focus on. It could be a story that documents the events of Ezio, Altair, or some other character.
