'Ash Vs. Evil Dead' News: Official Trailer Released At Comic-Con [VIDEO]
The official trailer for the anticipated 'Ash vs Evil Dead' series has dropped, and its chock full of the horror, gore, and comedy we're all familiar with from the movie franchise.
The trailer was screened at the Hall H Comic-Con and diehard fans will surely recognize the reminiscent feel and tone of the whole zombie horror flick. The series plans to take place many years after the events of the films and will see actor Bruce Campbell reprising his iconic role.
Here's a full description:
"Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its "Evil" grip."
'Ash vs. Evil Dead' plans to appear on Starz, however it also plans to enter a realm of television which is also fairly saturated with zombies, the undead, and the paranormal. For fans that are worried that this show will get overshadowed by more popular series such as 'The Walking Dead' shouldn't fret, as Campbell had this answer in a past interview with EW:
"It's about as big of a counterpart to Walking Dead as you could program because Walking Dead is unrelentingly grim and hugely popular. We're going to give people a little of the old fashioned slapstick: horror and comedy. The beauty of Starz is there's no content issues. Let's face it: fans want the carnage and the mayhem. So we intend to give them quite the explosion of viscera. Most of it directed at me, unfortunately."
'Ash vs Evil Dead' premieres on Starz this Halloween.
