Arsenal is looking to defend their home field when they host Monaco in their upcoming bout at the Emirates Stadium.
"It's interesting. I'm happy Monaco are back at the top level but now I'm focused on the game. They are a disciplined team who are very strong in defense, well organized and dangerous on the break," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to reporters in reference to facing his former team after he previously coached the French speaking side from 1987 until 1994.
"We can be confident because we've won our games. We have the right commitment and spirit but these are hard games."
In other Arsenal news, the English squad is expected to battle Monaco without their star midfielder Jack Wilshere when the two teams clash in the UK.
Arsenal previously defeated Crystal Palace by a final score of 2-1 on February 25, where striker Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal for his squad in the Premier League match.
Meanwhile, Monaco is trying to continue their winning ways on the road when they go head-to-head with Arsenal on Wednesday afternoon.
"Everyone considered us a gift, a lucky draw, so the luck fell to Arsenal," said Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim to reporters.
"It's normal that everyone thinks Arsenal will qualify. I too think Arsenal are favorites but in football sometimes money and the favorites don't win."
Monaco previously defeated OGC Nice by a final score of 1-0 on February 20, where midfielder Bernardo Silva scored the lone goal in in the France Ligue 1 match.
