'Arrow' & 'The Flash' Spinoff Series Cast News: New Roles Announced for Upcoming CW Superhero Show

A new spinoff series based off CW's "Arrow" and "Flash" shows has come into the spotlight, and fans are looking to find out more in regards to what they can expect.

The spinoff series will star Brandon Routh as Atom and Caity Lotz as Canary from "Arrow," and from "The Flash" come Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein of Firestorm.

TV Line announced two days ago that three new roles, The Traveler, Female Warrior and Mystery Hero, are set to appear on the spinoff as well.

The Traveler is described by TV Line as a "Han Solo-esque rogue" with "razor-sharp wit" who has time traveling capabilities. The sources as well as many DC fans speculate that either comic book characters Rip Hunter, Booster Gold or a combination of the two could be The Traveler. "The Flash" executive producer and DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff John loves both of these characters and "The Flash" series has delved into time travel in recent episodes so this theory is looking to be solid.

The Female Warrior could be any number of DC heroines. TV Line described The Female Warrior as a Latina who is bookish and awkward by day and a fierce and threatening female by night. As many know, there are plenty of female DC characters who could fit this description including Fury, Wildcat, Pantha, Tarantula and the famous Hawkgirl.

The Mystery Hero has the vaguest description from TV Line who will supposedly be an African-American male who has electric or electromagnetic powers. Again several candidates could fit the type including Black Lightning, Black Vulcan or Static.

All of this is pure speculation and more concrete details about the cast will be announced by CW when the spinoff series begins production.
