'Arrow' & 'The Flash' Spinoff Cast News: Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave Tapped for New Series

Another member is added to the highly anticipated spin off series from The CW's successful super hero dramas "The Flash" and "Arrow." Dominic Purcell, who played Heat Wave on "The Flash", will reprise his role for the upcoming spin off series.

Heat Wave aka Mick Rory teamed up with Captain Cold aka Leonard Snart in an episode of "The Flash" last season. The pyromaniac just can't keep away from all of Cold's toys and will team up with him again. Wentworth Miller, who plays Captain Cold, is excited to still be working with Purcell once more.

Purcell and Wentworth will be back to their villainous deeds in a new episode for "The Flash" on the March 24 episode. The two have also starred in the 2009 hit series "Prison Break."

Other characters from the two shows who will return are "Arrow's" Ray Palmer/The Atom played by Brandon Routh. Caity Lotz, who played Sara Lance/Canary, will come to the new show as well. However, since he character died in "Arrow", it is unclear with the show will bring her back as the same character or cast her as a new one.

"The Flash's" Dr. Stein, played by Victor Garber, will also be in the new series. According to Deadline, Robbie Amell did not sign for the project as Stein's other half, Firestorm from "The Flash." Three new super heroes will also star in the spin off series. These three major roles are said to be the first to appear in a TV series.

The untitled project will be worked on by "Arrow" creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and March Guggenheim. The spinoff will likely be released next-mid season on The CW.
