'Arrow' Season Spoilers, New Character News: Producer Looks to Feature Batman in Popular CW Show

The producer of CW's show 'Arrow', Marc Guggenheim, has recently expressed a lot of interest in bringing the DC caped crusader Batman to the series.

The 'Arrow' show follows the DC comic book character Oliver Queen, better known in the comic book world as the Green Arrow. Over the course of the show we've not only gotten to see characters from the respective comic, but heroes and villains from the DC universe.

In Guggenheim's words, "At the end of the day it'd be so awesome to have Batman on the show. That'd be really cool. I don't think that will be happening anytime soon, but you never know...one day."

He goes on to make a point on how he would have never guessed the series would go as far as it has with adding characters to the show.

"The executive producer also pointed out that when the show was being planned, they never imagined that they would include characters like Huntress, Deadshot and Deathstroke. Now in its third season, Arrow has had comic book favorites like Ray Palmer, Katana and the Suicide Squad, not to mention The Flash and all the characters introduced in that series. Because of all this, the executive producer has learned not to make any predictions because "the reality has far exceeded any of our initial predictions or initial conceptions"," writes Cinema Blend.

Due to the complex politics behind rights of certain characters, the show can't just simply take the likeness or an idea of a copyrighted DC superhero and just put them on the show. Although since it has worked for various iconic characters such as The Flash, one may never know.

Furthermore, if the producers do get green-lighted to make that move, it would something that exist outside the DC movie universe they are creating with the upcoming 'BVS: Dawn of Justice', and the 'Gotham' television series on FOX.

However, the over saturation of the character may have the potential of backfiring, if and when he appears in 'Arrow'.
