‘Arrow’ Season 4 Update, Spoilers: New Promo Shows New Developments for Oliver and Felicity [VIDEO]
When 'Arrow' returns for Season 4 early next month on The CW, fans can expect many new developments for its lead characters, including Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Brett Rickards).
According to Christian Today, the new trailer for 'Arrow' Season 4 apparently shows Oliver and Felicity trying to have a normal life. While Oliver is seen jogging in the suburbs, other photos of the couple at various locations reveal that they have spent much more time enjoying each other's company than taking on bad guys. In the promo, while Oliver hides a ring in a cupcake, his proposal is disrupted when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Thea (Willa Holland) arrive on the scene to tell him that they need the Arrow.
Subsequently, the couple returns to Starling, which has been renamed Star City in memory of the late Dr. Raymond Palmer (Brandon Routh), and Oliver is heard telling Felicity that he doesn't want to return to "being that person anymore." In response, Felicity tells Arrow that perhaps he needs to be a different kind of person as she reveals the Green Arrow suit. Soon, fans can see Arrow back on the streets to protect the citizens of the city.
Apart from the Arrow's new suit and the city being renamed, viewers will also see a change in Felicity's position in the company. Following the death of Palmer, Felicity has taken charge as the CEO.
Talking to TV Line, 'Arrow' executive producer Wendy Mericle said, "She's the full-blown CEO, and it's an opportunity to really see that character grow up and be challenged in ways we haven't seen before."
Meanwhile, the trailer also shows Arrow taking a bullet for Diggle (David Ramsey), who now sports a helmet when he's out fighting crime. According to the report, it will be interesting to see Oliver and Diggle's relationship, considering the fact that Diggle will still be giving Oliver the cold shoulder after what Ollie did last season.
Mericle told TVLine, "When they meet again at the top of season 4, it will be frosty," adding, "Their reconciliation, how they get there, is going to be a bumpy ride."
'Arrow' Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 8/7c on The CW.
