'Arrow' Season 4 News: Neal McDonough Cast as Next Season's Villain
'Arrow' has gotten their fourth season off on the right foot with the recent announcement that actor Neal McDonough has been cast as the villain Damien Darhk.
The character was referenced to in the last season, but this upcoming season plans to see this character as the new big bad.
"Created by Devin Grayson and Mark Buckingham for the 1999 comic series Titans, Darhk is a criminal mastermind that is deeply connected to the H.I.V.E. organization. The show's producers describe their take on the character as "a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra's al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow's greatest challenges," cites Coming Soon.
McDonough is no stranger to the comic book world, as he has held roles in both 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD,' and 'Marvel's Agent Carter,' as well as 'Captain America: The First Avenger.'
This role will be the actor's first time in a DC property, however many television series have recently followed the same trend with borrowing actors.
The premise of the next season hasn't yet been revealed, but McDonough's character is certain to add a new element to the show with the introduction of H.I.V.E..

'Arrow' plans to return to the CW on October 7.
