'Arrow’ Season 4 Latest News: CW Releases Synopsis, Makes No Mention of New Villain or Oliver in Green Hood

The long wait for 'Arrow' fans to know what the upcoming season of the television series based on DC Comics has in store for them when it returns in October is over, as The CW has finally released the synopsis for Season 4.

According to IB Times, 'Arrow' Season 4 synopsis raises question whether everyone is safe, keeping in view the circumstances, and also goes on to prove that Starling City continues to be in peril.

The official synopsis of 'Arrow' Season 4 released by The CW reads, "After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble?"

It adds, "Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver's crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra's al Ghul, is anyone really safe?"

It is interesting to note that the synopsis does not make any mention of a new villain. It, however, suggests that Malcolm Merlyn may rise once again as the major challenger in 'Arrow' Season 4. It is believed that as Malcolm will still be in command of the League of Assassins, he obviously possesses the resources needed to organize another major crime.

Nevertheless, there are some speculations that suggest the possibility of Malcolm becoming the villain for the second time. According to latest rumors, a new villain in the form of H.I.V.E. leader Damien Darkh will be the main concern for Oliver in 'Arrow' Season 4. This character was show toward the end of Season 3 and will feature in the upcoming. According to reports the mystery of this character includes adding to the question of Oliver's return to full-blown vigilantism and nights of crime-fighting.

In fact, the official synopsis of 'Arrow' Season 4 raises the question that fans have wanted to know ever since Oliver decided to live a life of bliss with the woman he loves. Now it remains to be seen if it will be Team Arrow without the actual Arrow and will Diggle, Thea and Laurel become the new protectors of Starling City.

'Arrow' Season 4 premieres Oct. 7 and will start from six months after the Season 3 finale.
