'Arrow' Season 3 Spoilers, Cast News: New Villain Confirmed - Doug Jones to Play Deathbolt

Season 3 is promising to be a great one for CW's hit TV series Arrow. The show is looking to add even more excitement as they announced that actor Doug Jones will appear on the nineteenth episode titled "Broken Arrow" as metahuman Jake Simmons, aka Deathbolt, according to IGN.

Jones' character is the first metahuman super villain to appear as one of Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) foes on the show. Usually the metahuman characters are given to Flash, Arrow's companion show, since Barry Allen, or The Flash played by Grant Austin,is also a metahuman that can give villains a run for their money. According to IGN, it is unclear whether or not Deathbolt obtained his abilities from Central City's particle accelerator explosion.

Sources say that the TV Deathbolt will have super villain powers that allow him to conduct massive amounts of electricity. In the DC comics, Deathboth is more known for his plasma energy harnessing abilities, but fans are eager to see how Jones' character will transport from the comics to the small screen.

Jones is probably not recognized among mild fans, which are used to seeing him in a lot of makeup, prosthetics, and CGI. He is most known for his roles as Fawn and Pale Man in Pan's Labyrinth, Ape Sapien in both Hellboy movies, and the Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. He is also known for his very physical performances.

Arrow airs at 8 pm every Wednesday on The CW.
