Fans have all been waiting for a first hand look at Brandon Routh in 'The Atom' suit, and the CW network has finally given it the green light.

The announcement of The Atom on 'Arrow' came prior to the current season but it was confirmed that Brandon Routh's character will don the suit. His character, Ray Palmer, is officially another superhero guest in the show's long line of features.

It is still unknown to what powers or abilities Ray's suit will have, as it has been said that they won't be adapting The Atom's shrinking powers on the show. For right now it looks like it will serve as just a suit of armor.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim commented on the difficulties in the design of the costume:

"Our goal when we had an idea to do a super suit was 'How do you do it in a way that's not Iron Man?' That's the trick creatively. Because we don't want to duplicate Iron Man, we want to do our own thing. So there's a lot of practical elements to the costume that on Iron Man they have done with CG. We're gonna do it practically."

The Atom will make his appearance suit and all in Episode 15 of 'Arrow' Season 3, and he's also to make another appearance on a neighboring series.

"We do know Ray and Felicity Smoak will pay a visit to The Flash this season, where Ray gets some assistance on the suit - which likely means we'll see The Atom in costume teaming with The Flash, given the episode is called 'All-Star Team-Up'," writes IGN.
