'Arrow' fans will be excited and heartbroken, at the same time, when they learn that in the upcoming episodes of their favorite CW series, a major character will likely be killed off. Beyond a tweet from Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell, some of the producers jumped on board and added to all the hype.

Starting with Amell's post, while he did not specifically say who will be killed off in the upcoming 'Arrow' Season 3 episode, it's pretty clear that someone is going away.

Sometimes real feelings creep into a scene. Goodbyes are tough. Even when they're scripted.

Moving beyond that, he was not the only one tied to the show that's letting a little slip about the Season 3 finale. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly executive producer Marc Guggenheim fueled the major character dead rumors, he said:

"I can't confirm anything. In all honesty, there are so many surprises coming. I was on my way here and I was thinking about episodes 16-23 and the truth of the matter is, every episode contains a massive spoiler. It's one spoiler after the other after the other and it's really hard to talk about."

Adding," I can't even talk about who is doing what because, yes, there is the strong possibility that someone will not finish the season with us."

Beyond Guggenheim, 'Arrow' producer Greg Berlanti said, "Every year characters come and go on all these shows. It's just the nature. We always try and do it in the right away, I guess."

It should be pretty clear that someone is going to be written from the show, but again, it could be anyone. With all the unexpected twists and turns that the show already has, there's no telling who it could be, besides the main 'Arrow' character Oliver Queen (maybe).

Stepping into some of what the cast had to say about the Season 3 character death hype, the actress who plays Felicity Smoak, Emily Bett Rickards, had this to say:

"Yeah, who dies this season? Season 3, who dies? You guys will be heartbroken again. I think that's why you guys keep watching the show because you like to hurt inside. Everyone you know and love you can see in season 2 and the beginning of season 3."

Setting all that aside, the major character death may or may not happen in the next 'Arrow' episode which airs on March 25. The synopsis posted by GreenArrowTV for 'Arrow' Season 3 Episode 17 entitled "Suicidal Tendencies" is as follows:

"It's celebration time as Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) get married. However, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe) interrupts their honeymoon and tells them the Suicide Squad has been given a new mission - rescue United States Senator Joseph Cray (guest star Steven Culp) from a hostage situation in the Republic of Kasnia. Amanda Waller (guest star Cynthia Addai-Robinson) breaks down the mission and introduces them to the newest member of the Suicide Squad, Cupid (guest star Amy Gumenick). Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) learns about Ray's new Atom costume and the two have a heated stand-off. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Ray hit a rough patch"
