'Arrow' Spoilers, News: Constantine to Appear This Fall in Season 4
The CW has finally opted to fulfill fans' request of featuring the now homeless Constantine character on their upcoming season of 'Arrow.'
He will once again be reprised by actor Matt Ryan and has been announced to appear in the fifth episode of the fourth season titled "Haunted."
Ryan's 'Constantine' series was recently cancelled on NBC and confirmed to be disbanded indefinitely, however thanks to the series' interconnected universes, Ryan's character can still appear on various DC Comics television shows.
CW president Mark Pedowitz released this statement:
"[Constantine] is no longer on the air and luckily, one of our parent companies, Warner Bros., is the production company on [both Arrow and Constantine] ... it's a great one-shot episode."
'Arrow' showrunner Marc Guggenheim followed afterwards with this statement:
"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow. Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired. The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW's DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."
According to The CW, "John Constantine is a weather-worn exorcist and expert on the supernatural and the occult. He is a detective, magician, and a hunter of demons, and will provide critical support to Oliver (Stephen Amell) when arrows aren't enough."
While this doesn't quite mean that 'Constantine' will continue its airing on the CW, it does expand the "Arrow-verse" world with more characters.
'Arrow' returns to the CW on October 7.
