'Arrested Development' New Season News: Season 5 to Arrive Mid-2016
'Arrested Development' fans can now rest easy with the recent announcement that season five will indeed be arriving in mid-2016.
Producer Brian Grazer made the announcement himself on the latest episode of Adam Carolla's podcast. In this he states:
"Well, I had a conversation with Fox today, this morning. Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we're gonna do more episodes. We're going to do it [at] the turn of the year. January, February we're gonna start it. [...] Mitch Hurwitz, who I just called while I was sitting out there in your beautiful waiting room. [...] I made the call to Mitch to say everybody's into it."
The show is believed to begin filming early next year and released about four months afterwards.
Details on what fans can expect from the fifth season haven't yet been revealed, but Grazer has previously stated that this season will contain 17 episodes.
"I love Arrested Development, but it was never a huge thing. But people are loyal to it. We're going to do another 17 episodes, so stay tuned for Arrested Development."
Viewers will ofcourse be able to see the season in its entirety with its release on Netflix.
"Another season of Arrested Development is a no-brainer for both fans and Netflix, especially as the streaming service plans to significantly boost the amount of original content it releases each year. Even as the debate over how binge-watching is affecting the storytelling process rages on, there seems to be no stopping Netflix from continuing to build its library - and with hit shows like House of Cards and Marvel's Daredevil, Arrested Development will definitely have plenty of company on Netflix's newly designed website," writes Screen Rant.
