‘Aquaman’ Movie Rumors, News: Ocean Master To Appear As Film’s Villain
James Wan's upcoming DC Comics film "Aquaman" might have found its villain in the form of Ocean Master, also known as Orm.
According to JoBlo, Wan's "Aquaman" will see Ocean Master fight Aquaman for the throne, just like in the animated films. The information is considered as a rumor at this point; however, it is at par with another rumor that Red Hood is going to be the villain and storyline for Ben Affleck's upcoming solo "Batman" film.
Ocean Master is Aquaman's half-borther, who thinks himself as the real heir to Atlantis' throne. In the comic book storyline and the animated film, Ocean Master served as the prime villain for the King of Atlantis. In fact, he is set as a surprise villain in Wan's "Aquaman," according to reports.
While Aquaman's villains have been revealed, it is assumed that the king of Atlantis is set to have his alley in the form of Mera. Previously described as the "Queen of Atlantis," Mera is going to be a tough character in the film and she is being compared to Furiosa's role in "Mad Max: Fury Road," according to Screen Crush.
The character is reportedly set to make her cinematic debut in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and may appear in Snyder's "Justice League."
Prior to his appearance in James Wan's solo "Aquaman" film, Jason Momoa is set to debut the King of Atlantis in Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which sets up the floor for "Justice League." Along with Momoa, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" also stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and Jesse Eisenberg, among others.
Wan's "Aquaman" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 27, 2018 while Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters on Mar. 25, 2016.
