'Aquaman' Movie News: Director Zack Snyder Releases Picture of Jason Momoa as DC Superhero
DC fans have finally received their first look at Zack Snyder's interpretation for Jason Momoa's Aquaman and the general consensus seems well received.
Momoa was announced to portray the superhero in Snyder's DC universe a couple months ago, but not until now have we seen anything linked to that. It was also heavily speculated how the director planned to adapt the character as Aquaman has classically been a comical figure in pop culture, however Snyder has been inclined to give it a more virile appearance.
"Zack Snyder tweeted the first image of Jason Momoa as the underwater superhero who will debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and you can laugh at your own risk. The Hawaiian-born Game of Thrones actor with the wild mane and fierce brow holds a trident and wears full-body Maori-like tattoos that blend in with his armor. 'There is only one true king #unitetheseven'," Snyder said in his tweet.
The phrase "Unite the Seven" is believed to tease the eventual team up of all the Justice League characters, as there have been seven announced to be adapted, along with their own respective solo films.
Aquaman is slated appear in his own solo flick in 2018.
